Kalmar SmartRead is an effective solution that can automatically capture and record your containers’ ID while they are being handled in your yard. Helping to save your business time and money.

Record every container ID automatically.

When containers are handled in your yard by applicable equipment [see list below], SmartRead will automatically capture each container’s unique ID printed on its roof and side panel through HD cameras mounted on the spreader, enabling the container ID to be matched to the work order. This solution can also record any damage to the roof of the container if required. 

Integrate recorded container IDs seamlessly.

This information can then be integrated into other systems, including your Terminal Operating System, eliminating the need to manually capture and record container IDs and giving you the opportunity to inspect the container roof for damage. By capturing this information automatically, you will also remove the risk of human error when container IDs are captured manually.
